Power & Torque Concerns — Clarification from Magician Ebike

Recently, we've received valuable feedback from customers expressing concerns about torque and acceleration performance, especially when riding uphill or on soft sand according to Tailhappytv testing video. 

We want to clarify that the sample bike tested by TailHappyTV (Matt) had its phase current limited, which reduced the available torque during his initial review.

However, on our production units, All official Magician Ebikes shipped to customers are configured with a released  phase current, which significantly enhances performance — especially in challenging conditions like steep climbs and loose terrain.

To further demonstrate this, TailHappyTV will soon publish a dedicated performance video, to shows the true power and climbing ability of the production-version Magician. Stay tuned!

  • Climb Mode
Delivers 110% throttle torque, specially tuned for sand, mud, and steep inclines.
You’ll experience stronger torque and quicker starts, with a capped top speed of 20 mph for improved control and safety in technical terrain.

  • Stealth & Eco Modes
Stealth Mode: 30% torque
Eco Mode: 60% torque
Ideal for urban rides, beginners, seniors, and female riders.
These modes provide gentler starts, stable cruising speeds (up to 50+ mph), and enhanced energy efficiency for longer, smoother commutes.

All settings above are factory defaults and can be adjusted anytime using the Bafang mobile app.

Warning :

The tires used on the Alpha are custom-designed for high-power e-bikes and can safely handle speeds of 50mph-60mph. Most e-bike tires on the market are not rated for this level of performance.
For safety reasons, we strongly recommend that customers do not replace them with other brands or models.
